Holiday Gift Guide

today is definitely a day of firsts here on Napps & Sass. i toyed with the idea of posting a holiday gift guide but was super nervous and didn’t know where to start. every year i look forward to little gift sets from various brands that i end up getting and sharing with my mom and/or close friends & this year was no exception. gift giving can be intimidating especially if you have a large family. luckily for me i have a smaller family and and even smaller circle of friends who are thankfully not picky. since i’m a novice at this gift guide thing, i chose to stick with a list of goodies for “her”. from the list of items, i personally own the lip glosses, the mac shadow palette and the train case which are all highly recommended. i felt the need to include at least three items that i personally own so i can give you my thoughts on them….

first up is a fragrance set from jo malone which is just so lovely. the set comprises of a body/hand wash, cologne and a body cream all in the scent mimosa and cardamom. the set is perfect for someone who loves a floral scent that is not too overpowering. next to pomegranate noir, mimosa & cardamum is my favorite jo malone scent. i own the body cream in the scent and it’s sooooo juicy.

next are two lip glosses that are perfect stocking stuffers. these marc jacobs enamored lip glosses are some of the best lip glosses i’ve tried. if you love a glossy gloss, these are what you need. they give you such a glossy look without being too runny or sticky + they last all day and bring your lipstick of choice together nicely.
if you’ve read my blog lately, you will know that smith and cult is one of my favorite nail polish brands. they have an array of colors and the longevity of their formula is fantastic. the two colors i bought as stocking stuffers this year are “stockholm syndrome” which is a neutral gray and “dark like me” which is a nice deep plum shade.

next on the list is probably my favorite thing out if the entire list which is this gorgeous bobbi brown make-up case. when i saw this on her website i knew i had to have it. each year i’ve lusted after one of them but never brought my self to purchasing one. it fits a lot more than i thought it would which was a pleasant surprise. this would be a lovely gift for any girl who is makeup obsessed. the quality is great and the color is a deep burgundy shade that looks great on any vanity. it has two tiers with the top having a place for brushes. the bottom tier is a bit deeper than the top tier and holds all your essentials.

speaking of makeup-up obsession, two items that i think any makeup lover would appreciate is the mac eye shadow palette (warm neutral) and sigma eyes on the go brush set. you get a mix of shimmers and matte shadows that are neutral enough for all skin shades in the palette which i think is pretty versatile. MAC shadows are some of my favorite shadows as they are pigmented and long lasting. plus they have an array of various palettes to suite everyone’s needs.

who can go wrong with eyeshadow brushes? i picked up two sets of these brushes (one for my mom)  and one for me to keep (don’t judge me, lol). the set includes 4 of sigma’s top eye shadow brushes (E15, E25, E30 & E55). i personally have never owned any of these brushes so i’m excited to give them a go and i’m sure my mom will appreciate hers as well.

if you know me, you know that i HAD to include some bath and body works candles on my list! i’m literally obsessed with these damn candles and to be honest, they’re great for gift giving. every year when BBW has their $8.50 candle sale i buy a bunch so i can add them as stocking stuffers and also gift them to my friends and co-workers. they’re easy, they smell amazing and you are bound to find a scent that is neutral to everyone’s liking. my favorites this year for gift giving are salted caramel, marshmallow fireside, candied pecans and winter. that candied pecan is literally the truth! it smells AMAZING! best of all, they’re always on sale  (2/$24) close to the christmas holiday which makes  for great last minute gifts.

my final recommendation for gift giving this year is another jo malone gift set (no i am not sponsored, lol) which comprises of a bath oil (english peer and freesia), a bubble bath (nectarine blossom and honey) and a shower oil (peony and blush suede). what i love about this set is that you can totally split it up (what i’ll be doing) and make it into three small gifts or an addition to a larger gift. you could totally gift this as one big as well, however either way, it’s a nice and luxurious gift that would be appreciated.

i hope you enjoyed my first ever gift guide here on the blog and hope you find some inspiration for your own gift giving this year. xo
